Manhattan landlord Steve Croman – under investigation by New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman since 2014 for alleged tenant harassment – surrendered to authorities Monday, and will face criminal charges.

Croman, who owns 140 buildings across the city, is accused of repeatedly harassing and intimidating rent-regulated tenants at his buildings, seeking to drive them out so they could be replaced with market-rate renters.

The specific charges against Croman haven’t yet been disclosed. Anthony Falconite – a former New York Police Department office上海贵族宝贝 上海千花网龙凤论坛r who worked for Croman, allegedly lying about his identity to gain access to residents’ units and subsequently falsely accusing them of violating rent-control rules – was上海龙凤论坛sh1f 上海龙凤论坛 also served with a civil suit Wednesday connected to the alleged harassment, the New York Daily New爱上海同城对对碰 爱上海同城论坛s reported.

Internal emails filed with the suit showed Croman and his associates referring to tenants as “targets,” and called the process of allegedly forcing them out a “team sport.”

The landlord is also accused of undertaking disruptive renovations around rent-regulated tenants, often without permits, ignoring stop-work orders and exposing his residents to noise and lead-tainted dust, the Daily News reported. More than a year after plans for a six-story addition to the museum were scrapped, the Frick Collection board 上海千花网龙凤论坛 上海千花社区has selected Annabelle Selldorf s architecture firm to renovate the building.

The board selected Selldorf from a group of 20 architects it had solicited to propose a redesign of the Upper East Side museum, the New York Times reported. There is no design yet, but the renovation is expected to include improving circulation in the building while preserving its character. The museum, at 1 East 70th Street, was designed from 1912 to 1914 by Thomas Hastings for American industrialist and union antagonist, Henry Clay Frick.

Selldorf, who designed the renovation for the Neue 新上海贵族宝贝论坛 上海贵族宝贝交流区Galerie in Manhattan, was selected for her approach, said Ian Wardropper, the Frick’s director.

“She’s som阿拉爱上海同城 爱上海龙凤419桑拿ebody who has a clear vision of respect for historical buildings but at the same time has a clean, elegant, modernist aesthetic that is very much about welcoming visitors today,” Wardropper told the Times.

In June of last year, the Frick s board agreed to abandon controversial plans to replace the museum s garden with a six-story addition. Four billion dollars doesn t buy what it used to. Workers at the World Trade Center Oculus claim the mall and transit hub continues to leak.

Rain over the past week resulted in puddles and slippery floors, the New York Post reported, and one maintenance worker says people are now having accidents.

“There are leaks on this side and that side, those two balconies, by the elevators, and then the back also. It’s a mess,” the worker told the newspaper. “We soak it up and drain it. It’s a lot of work. It’s nonstop.” He added that on the last rainy day a person slipped in a puddle and “almost broke their neck on the marble.”

However, a spo爱上海同城 爱上海kesperson for the Port Authority told the Post “there were no leaks at Oculus this week.” Earlier this month, the agency said nearby construction was causing some parts of the building to flood.

“Everything is not done so you’ve have to come back and do it,” said construction worker Shawn Cumberbatch, 41, who was caulking a seam in the main room that had been had been unsealed, according to the Post. “If they just took their time and got it right the first time, we wouldn’t have this problem.”

Blackstone Group is selling another one of its trophy office towers along Bryant Park.

Savanna signed a contract late last week to acquire 5 Bryant Park, also known as 1065 Sixth Avenue, for $640 million, The Real Deal has learned.

Blackstone has been looking to sell the 34-story, 665,000-square-foot property since 2016, when the private-equity giant first put it on the market. The firm bought the building in 2006 as part of a $7.2 billion joint-venture takeover of Trizec Properties with Brookfield Property Partners. Blackstone then bought out Brookfield for $295.4 million in 2011.

The sale, which comes out to about $980 per square foot, would signal the last of Blackstone’s Bryant Park buildings. In 2015, it sold 3 Bryant Park to Ivanhoe Cambridge and Callahan Capital Properties for a whopping $2.2 billion. Hon上海千花网 爱上海同城对对碰g Kong’s central bank has since taken a stake in that building.

The property at 5 Bryant Park, built in the late 1950s, is about 97 percent occupied, sources said. Tenants include Seamless, Movable Ink and HOK Architects.

Sources said Savanna plans to hold the building for now, but may eventually redevelop it.

A JLL t上海贵族宝贝论坛 上海贵族宝贝eam led by Anthony Ledesma and an HFF team led by Andrew Scandalios are representing the seller in the deal.

Pending sales for existing homes nationwide dropped by 0.7 percent in between July and June, and have now fallen for seven straight months on an annual basis.

The National Association of Realtors’ study of those sales suggests that the slowdown is because of high pricing. Pending sales in July were down 2.3 percent year over year. The organization’s analysis i上海龙凤论坛sh1f 上海龙凤论坛s based on contracts signed for existing single-family homes, condos and co-ops, also making it an indicator of what closed sales could look like in a month or two.

The western U.S. saw the biggest year-over-year dip in pending sales, dropping by 5.8 percent. Sales in the southern U.S., which has been one of the stronger regions in recent years, dipped by 0.9 percent.

NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun said those dec上海夜网论坛 上海夜网lines “weighed down” the overall national numbers. He said the latest numbers are a reflection of overheated markets, pointing to the western U.S. as the prime example.

Years of inadequate supply and strong job growth “have finally driven up home prices to a point where an increasing number of prospective buyers are unable to afford it,” Yun said.

Rental insurance startup Jetty raises $25M in Series B Keith Rabois’ Khosla Ventures led the latest round of funding

The rental insurance startup Jetty has raised $25 million in a Series B funding round led by Khosla Ventures’ K上海千花网论坛 上海千花网eith Rabois, the company announced Wednesday. The investment brings the company’s total funding to more than $40 million.

Jetty focuses on selling what it characterizes as rental insurance to city dwellers, and it s in 46 states. Jetty also offers to serve as a guarantor on apartment leases in exchange for 5 to 10 percent of the annual rent and handle security deposits for a 17.5 percent fee. The firm will use the new round of funding to expand its distribution footprint with additional investments in technology and employees.

The company was founded by Michael Rudoy and Luk上海千花网论坛 上海千花网e Cohler, who also founded the design agency Breadhouse. Rabois will join Jetty’s board of directors as part of the new funding round.

Jetty says it has access to more than 500,000 rental units across the country via management partners including LivCor, Beam Living, Griffis, LeFrak, Lynd and Rose Associates. The firm officially launched in April 2017 with $4 million in seed money and raised $11.5 million in a Series A funding 上海夜网 阿爱上海同城round led by Peter Thiel’s Valar Ventures that August.
